"A lovely place to stay with good friendly staff. The rooms were very nicely decorated and clean, and were well stocked with tea, coffee and biscuits. The general lounge was large and spacious with comfy sofas and a large tv. The evening meals were very good and portions large and all home made. I would stay again if I were in that area again." The hotel was clean and well presented the food was great too.

"When you stay in overnight accommodation there is often a mean side to things. Short cuts to save money for example. We found that this place was there to make your stay as good and ascomfortable as possible and to offer you their best hospitality. We were made to feel welcome not just another person to put up with. We have stayed in various kinds of accommodation and we have often felt we were there under sufference. This is the best place we have stayed at for many a year, and priced very reasonably." (97720279)
Immaculate bedding, great bathroom, a good feel about the accommodation, friendly welcome, fantastic breakfast and easy folk to deal with. If only there were more places like it.

"We booked this accomodation a an overnight stay on our way to Belfast and would happily return either overnight again or for a longer stay if touring the area. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The only way our stay could have been improved is if they offered a restaurant/ bar for evening meals due to the very limited choice in Stranraer." (97272315)
The room was very comfortable and pleasantly furnished and finished to a high standard - the bathroom particularly. Very good value for money

"WE were very impressed by the standard of this excellent accommodation from the moment we arrived. The bedrooms were clean, comfortable and well decorated. We were advised about places to visit with the help of a weather forecast printout for the days ahead.Lots of books to browse through. Breakfast was beautifully presented and great attention to detail.( even scissors to open the sauce sachets) Staff took time to show us around the building and give us historical background. Made to feel welcome at all times. Close proximity to Ferry was an added bonus." (99423279)
Very helpful, friendly staff. Very relaxing visitor lounge Beautiful breakfast
Carpark needs resurfacing. Some traffic noise during the night from nearby road

"The Rhins turned out to be very near all the facilities we needed being no more than 10 minutes drive to our event and main town of Stranraer. The owners have clearly put a lot of effort into building up their business and in the process of this, turning the building into one with a distinctive character in terms of its public areas, in particular its dining room. We have already decided that the Rhins is where we will stay whenever we are in the Stranraer area." (99674657)
Choice of decor and furniture was tastefully done. Room was extremely comfortable and quiet. The ensuite was fitted out to a high standard and even better the shower was easy to use and actually worked effectively (more than can be said of some guest houses we have resided in). The breakfast was well cooked, tasty and well presented. The hosts were very amenable, sociable and genuinely interested in us as people.

"A licenced bar would have been agreable due to the distance to the nearest Pub but it did not takeaway the peaceful ambience of this hotel." (99147698)
Peace and quiet of the area. Room was very comfortable.
Had difficulty working the TV remote control and a lot of the programmes on the information sheet were unaccessible.

"We had booked this accommodation for a couple of reasons. We were actually on our honeymoon and were looking for somewhere peaceful and scenic. Also, we had planned to take a day trip over to Belfast to visit family so the location was ideal. Between our arrival and departure, we could not have asked for anything more. Our hosts were very friendly and helpful, and really did make our stay there so enjoyable. We have decided that we will be returning there for our 1st Anniversary." (99554560)
The whole experience of our stay at this location was superb. The staff were so helpful, the accommodation was to a very high standard and we felt very much at home during our stay.
